Andrew Evans: Geared Toward Service

Andrew Evans (‘19) is geared toward serving others. He is utilizing his time at BYU in pursuit of a joint JD/MPA to strengthen his capacity to improve the lives of others. In addition to his studies, he has developed an evaluation plan to improve school breakfast programs for young children and works as a Conflict Resolution Caseworker to encourage constructive dialogue during disputes. By assisting veterans as an Americorps Law Clerk, and providing leadership training to soldiers as a Company Commander, Andrew is focused on using his capabilities to better those around him.

While serving as president of the Black Law Students Association, he has expanded the mission statement to include his fellow students, regardless of race. As an advocate for diversity and inclusion in his educational and religious community, he hopes this change will inspire unity and adequately prepare all law students to enter “a highly diverse legal field and to serve in an increasingly diverse church.”
