Taylor Murphy: Centered on Learning

Taylor Murphy (‘20) is centered on including and learning from others. As the father of two boys, he enjoys spending time with his sons and benefitting from their sincerity and joy. His motivation to lead and contribute to society stems from his propensity to work hard and help others. From 2015 to 2018, Taylor has worked in Private Equity and Venture Capital, as well as Corporate Law. He is leveraging his aptitude for finance and desire to serve by pursuing a joint JD/MBA.


As a BYU student, he is the managing director of Cougar Capital, a $3.9 million student-run venture capital fund. He is a member of the Business Law Society and has participated in building technology products to help landlords and tenants alleviate the eviction epidemic in America. His pursuit of education, enhanced by the outstanding examples of other, has afforded him the opportunity to “enter to learn” and “go forth to serve.”
