Alumni Allies
You may have read about Alumni Allies in the ABA Journal or Salt Lake Tribune. After a successful year, we are now recruiting alumni to begin our next round of Alumni Allies.
What is Alumni Allies?
- The program matches a BYU Law student with an alum mentor. Alumni Allies has been recognized for its innovative approach to mentoring, and 150+ alums are participating in providing professional development coaching for current students. Click here to read a story about last year’s program.
What does Alumni Allies require?
- Take a 3-minute personality test using a special algorithm created by The Match Group (of Match.com and Chemistry.com). We will use this information to match you with a current student/alumni based on your personality type, professional and personal interests.
- Set up and participate in a monthly phone, Skype, or in-person, one-on-one conversation with your student for a year. Conversations are not unduly structured, but center on professional competencies, like self-awareness, research skills and work ethic. We will provide monthly suggested topics to facilitate your discussions.
What if you already have an Ally?
That’s awesome. Thank you. If you’re comfortable with simultaneously mentoring another student, let us know.
What if you signed up for the program earlier, but haven’t been matched with an Ally yet?
Thank you! We still have your information and will make an extra effort to match you this time around.
