All law.byu.edu accounts and byulaw.net accounts need to have either a recovery email or a recovery phone number associated with them in order for you to be able to reset your own password if you forget it. Instructions for how to do this are found at this link:
If you are locked out of your account and have not set up your recovery information, contact the help desk. If you have already set these up keep reading for instructions on resetting your password.
Resetting your Password
1. If you get your password wrong or don’t remember it and you have set up a recovery email or phone number, you can use that to change your password. Simply click on the “Forgot password?” link.
2.This will take you to a page that will ask you to try the last password you remember. You can do this OR click “Try another way”. If you click “Try another way” Gmail will prompt you for your recovery phone number.
3. If you don’t want to use your phone number then there is an option to use your recovery email. Select the link that says “I don’t have my phone”.
4. Either of these options will send a verification code to you that you can use to reset your password. Follow the prompts in the window.
5. Once you have reset your password you will reach a screen that says you’re signed in. Click on the link that says “Continue to Gmail”
