Woodruff J. Deem

Woodruff (“Woody”) Deem graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in 1946. He practiced law in Washington, D.C., and served as district attorney of Ventura County in California. He was one of the first nine faculty members at the J. Reuben Clark Law School. He taught criminal law classes and trained students on forensic skills through videotaping and critiquing. Deem retired from BYU in 1984 due to Parkinson’s disease and died in St. George, Utah on September 5, 1988.
