Ryan Tenney is an appellate attorney with the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Utah.  He previously spent nine years as an Assistant Attorney General in the criminal appeals division of the Utah Attorney General’s Office, where he was lead appellate counsel for Utah in over 120 appeals. In the fall of 2008, he drafted a merits stage amicus brief on behalf of Utah and 38 other states that was filed with the United States Supreme Court in Vermont v. Brillon.  He currently serves on the executive board of the Utah State Bar's appellate section, is a past chair of its constitutional law section, and is a past member of its Ethics Advisory Opinion Committee.

He graduated with honors from the J. Reuben Clark Law School (BYU) in 2003, where he was selected to the Order of the Barristers and received the John Welch Award for Legal Writing.
