Marc Porter
Marc Porter is a partner in the Salt Lake City office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati (Wilson Sonsini), where he leads the corporate group and represents emerging technology, consumer product and life science companies, and the venture capital firms that fund them. He executes a substantial volume of financings and liquidity events each year for early- to late-stage private companies as well as venture capital firms. Marc works closely with executives, boards of directors, entrepreneurs, and venture capital fund managers. Marc has been recognized as leading corporate attorney by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business in the Utah Corporate/M&A category. He is also named in Best Lawyers in America for corporate law and venture capital law and honored among the “Legal Elite” by Utah Business Magazine.
Prior to joining Wilson Sonsini, Marc was a corporate partner in the Salt Lake City office of Holland & Hart. Earlier in his career, he was an associate at Snell & Wilmer and Perkins Coie LLP. Following law school, he clerked for Judge Paul J. Kelly, Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit (Santa Fe, New Mexico). Marc received his JD from J. Reuben Clark Law School, Brigham Young University, 2000. He graduated Summa Cum Laude, was a Lead Articles Editor on BYU Law Review and received the Hugh B. Brown Barristers Award. Marc received his BA, Japanese, from Brigham Young University in 1995.
