Stephen G. Wood

Stephen Wood (1941–2022) joined the J. Reuben Clark Law School in 1976. Before coming to the law school, Wood practiced law in Washington D.C. from 1971 to 1976. He is one of the original members, and at one time Chair, of the Utah Administrative Law Advisory Committee. In 2009, Wood published a book, Utah's Administrative Procedures Act: A 20-Year Perspective, along with Alvin Robert Thorup, Deputy City Attorney for the City of West Jordan. With this book, Wood has been able to analyze the effectiveness of the UtahAPA. This book has had an impact on legislative staff, the courts, and citizen groups that seek to impact public interest legislative reform.

Wood served as an associate dean to the law school from 1979 to 1981. He received his JD from the University of Utah and his JSD from Columbia University and Universitaet Muenchen in Munich, Germany. Wood taught administrative law, employment law, and perspectives on law—comparative law.
