Recruiting Manager

Coleen Nelson joined the BYU Law School Career Development Office in March 2014. She received her bachelor of science degree in legal studies from Utah Valley University in April 2011. Ms. Nelson began her legal career while living in California, where she worked at the law firm of Gonsalves & Kozachenko in Fremont, California, in 1987. At that time, she and her husband moved to Utah to complete their education.
Since receiving her BS degree, Ms. Nelson has worked in a variety of law offices, including the Office of General Counsel for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the 3rd District Court Office of the Guardian ad Litem.
Ms. Nelson’s work in the Career Development Office focuses on recruiting. She coordinates and executes all aspects of the recruiting process at BYU Law, including the logistics of on-campus interviews, the Annual Networking Fair, and the Annual Salt Lake City Walk Around. She enjoys working with both law firm personnel and, especially, current and former students.
Ms. Nelson is married and has four children and two grandchildren. In her spare time, she and her family are all about supporting the Cougs! They enjoy season tickets to football, basketball, baseball, both men’s and women’s volleyball, and any other sport going on at the time.
