Limits on School Credit for Experiential Learning Opportunities
Academic credit awarded via Externships and Clinical Alliances is subject to limitations set forth in the BYU Law School Policies and Procedures (see II. Curriculum, I. Clinics, Clinical Alliances and Externships, On-Location Law Seminars, and Remote Course Offerings, Sections (2)(G) and (3)(C)). Students should always check those Policies and Procedures, as well as verify with the Law School Registrar GaeLynn Smith, to ensure their eligibility to earn credit in their individual clinics, externship, and clinical alliance opportunities.
A summary of the limitations can be found on the Graduation Requirements page.
Please be advised that this is a summary only, and that the Policies and Procedures are subject to formal change by the Law School Faculty. Accessing the current BYU Law School Policies and Procedures themselves is always the best option to understand eligibility.
