In addition to a rigorous theoretical curriculum, BYU Law offers first-year students the opportunity to participate in one of several Academies—world-class skills trainings delivered by top-flight practitioners working in partnership with BYU Law faculty. Academies employ an intensive, simulation-based approach to help students integrate their academic legal training with the real-world practice of law.

At BYU Law, students are trained to not only meet the minimum standards of technological competence, but to leverage technology to excel in the legal arena. Our Legal Tech Initiative (LTI) is a comprehensive program that trains students in a variety of technology tools and topics through hands-on workshops and guest lectures from subject-matter experts and vendors. As a result of the LTI programming, students graduate ready for the technology of today’s legal practice and prepared to meet future challenges head-on.
